Overview
On October 7th, 2024, following the devastating attack on Israel,
hundreds of citizens - from infants to the elderly - were taken hostage into the Gaza strip.
For months, their families fought tirelessly to bring them home, organizing protests and maintaining public awareness. As time passed, it became clear that there was a critical need to unite and amplify these efforts. The challenge was twofold: families needed a centralized platform to share their stories and organize activities, while supporters nationwide and worldwide were eager to help but struggled to find meaningful ways to contribute beyond attending protests.

This sensitive and time-critical project followed a structured design process while maintaining flexibility for rapid iteration and deployment.
Problem Summary
The hostages' families didn’t have a centralized digital platform to unite their efforts.
While families were actively organizing events and sharing stories and activities, their initiatives were scattered across various social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, making it difficult for supporters, nationwide and worldwide, to find and engage with their cause. The existing communication channels created a disconnect between willing supporters and families in need, resulting in a reduced impact of awareness initiatives and missed opportunities for meaningful engagement and support. This disconnect was particularly evident in transforming general public sympathy into actionable support.
